What is sent
OfficeLabs reads and changes your documents on your own machine. Chat in the sidebar runs in the cloud: the text of your request and the document content it needs are sent to the AI model through your OfficeLabs account. Inline suggestions in Writer run on your computer, on a model that ships with the app, and that text is not sent to the cloud.
Stays local
- Your documents, workbooks and slide decks as files.
- The edits applied to them: they go through the LibreOffice UNO API on your machine.
Leaves your machine
- Your request and the document context it needs, sent through OfficeLabs to the AI model in the cloud so it can answer. This is the text you type plus the part of the document the assistant needs for that request (not the whole file by default), the earlier messages in the same chat, any files you attach to the chat, the results of the document tools it uses, and a picture of the document when the assistant checks how its own output looks. See Data flow.
- Account and billing data, exchanged with the OfficeLabs service to sign you in and meter your usage.
Who handles that traffic is on Processors. We do not use your document content to train models.
